All materials become charged with static electricity by friction or induction of an electric field. When the charged material comes into contact with a material that has another electrical charge potential, a discharge occurs. These discharges can cause major problems in installations in the industrial and health sectors: breakdowns of electronic components and electrical systems sensitive to discharges, risk of explosions and fires due to proximity to flammable or explosive substances, contamination of manufacturing processes due to aerial suspension of particles or , even, annoyances for the personnel (in the form of electric shocks).
To avoid this, it is essential to install pavements with a treatment that ensures the immediate elimination of any static electrical charge that could be generated on them, conductive pavements that do not generate electricity and also cancel it.
This is applicable in industries with risk of explosion (oil extraction, military industry, service stations,…) or in the electronics industry (telecommunications, computers, “clean rooms”, high voltage and electricity supply, manufacturing of electrical components ,…)
